Seniors Go Out In Style

The LMU softball team gave its seniors a fitting farewell by sweeping a pair of games from Utah Valley, 5-3 and 2-1, Sunday at Smith Field.

Regular Season Finale Versus Utah Valley

The PCSC title is still up for grabs and among the deciding series this week is the Lions' match-up on Saturday and Sunday against Utah Valley. The two squads sit tied for second at 13-7, and two games back of BYU (15-5). Saturday's doubleheader begins at 10 a.m. while Sunday's regular season finale is scheduled for noon at Smith Field.

At LMU... 2013...Started all 48 games she appeared in, primarily in left field... fourth on the team with a .283 batting average... had 41 hits, including nine doubles, one triple and four home runs... 11 multi-hit games including three-hit performances against Long Island (Mar. 8) and Northern Illinois (Mar. 13)...

2012...Appeared in all 53 games, earning 52 starts... started the season as the Lions' third baseman, then moved into the outfield following the injury of Danielle Smith... PCSC Coastal Division Player of the Week (Mar. 19)... hit .266 on the year... 12 extra-base hits included nine doubles, one triple and two home runs... had 25 RBIs and 17 runs scored... had 10 multi-hit games including four three-hit outings... season-high four RBIs in a 3-for-3 performance against Utah State (Mar. 12)... had two doubles and a triple in that game...

2011...Appeared in 23 games in 2011, starting 10...spent time at 3rd base as well as a pinch runner...hit .176 on the season with two RBIs both against UC Riverside (Feb. 20) and one double... a solid defensive player in the field recording 22 assists protecting the 3rd baseline...

2010...Appeared in 45 games, starting 11... mainly came in as late-inning defensive replacement... hit .160 (8-for-50) with a double and two RBI... walked three times and scored eight runs... laid down four sacrifice hits... batted .378 in conference play... collected first career hit vs. Oregon State (Mar. 6)... went 2-for-3 with an RBI at Cal State Bakersfield (Apr. 11)... doubled and scored vs. Sacramento State (May 9)... was 1-for-1 with an RBI and run scored vs. Bucknell (Mar. 18)...

High School...Four-year letterwinner for Coach Mike Southworth at Chino Hills High School... four-time All-Sierra League selection, including First Team honors her final two years... Second Team All-State by Cal Hi Sports as a senior... First Team All-Inland Valley as a senior... hit .475 her senior season, breaking the school record with 51 hits in a year... named Defensive Player of the year her sophomore and junior seasons...
