Los Angeles, Calif. --
Senior shortstop Sam Fischer has earned her fifth career PCSC player of the Week honor this past week. The Lions went 4-1 with major help from Fischer’s monster bat this weekend at the UC Davis Aggie Stampede.
Averaging .500 by going 8 for 16 over five games, Sam had a hit in every game over the weekend including seven RBIs and three homeruns. Fischer’s three homeruns add to her career total of 45. Sam is in route to chase down assistant coach Danielle Kaminaka’s career homerun record of 47.
She finished the weekend slugging 1.125 and had back to back 3 RBI games including a nail-biter against Boise State where she hit two homeruns as well as a three run bomb against UC Davis to give the Lions the lead they were looking for.
Fischer and the Lions search for a fifth win today against UCLA at 12:00pm at Smith Field.
