LOS ANGELES - Pacific Coast Softball Conference play continues this week as the Lions (19-16, 2-2 PCSC) head out on the road for the second straight series, facing Santa Clara (3-24, 0-0 PCSC) on Friday and Saturday, March 29-30. Two two squads will face off for a doubleheader each day beginning at noon at the SCU Softball Field.

INSIDE THE LIONS
The Lions opened PCSC play last week at CSU Bakersfield, earning a 2-2 series split with the Roadrunners... In the four-game set, Stephanie Maciel went 5-for-12 (.417) with a home run and three runs... Olivia Alvarez hit home runs in each of the first two games and Hannah Montalban hit her first collegiate grand slam in the Lions' 7-6 win to cap play... Dana Waldusky went 0-1, but allowed just three earned runs in 11.1 innings... Sydney Gouveia moved to 10-2 on the year and increased her strikeout count to 155, which ranks No. 7 in the LMU record book... The rookie continues to rank No. 4 in the latest NCAA rankings with 11.7 strikeouts per seven innings... Gouveia also ranks No. 13 in shutouts (5) while Skylar Segura ranks No. 8 in sacrifices per game (0.41)...
INSIDE THE MATCHUP
LMU holds a 54-47 all-time record against Santa Clara... That mark includes a 21-19 mark on the Broncos' home field... Last year the teams split the four-game PCSC series, 2-2... That split snapped a seven-game LMU win streak dating back to the first match-up of the 2010 season... LMU also swept the series in 2009 and 2007, giving itself an 18-6 record over the last six years... The Broncos enter this week with a 3-24 overall mark as the series marks their first PCSC play of the year... Santa Clara has lost seven straight and has been outscored 49-8 during that span...
