LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 12, 2005) - Sophomore Margo Pineda was named the PCSC Player of the Week after leading the Lions to a four-game sweep of Saint Mary's last weekend. She hit .571 with a home run, a double, three RBI and five runs scored.
The second baseman also drove in the game-tying and game-winning RBIs in LMU's 7-6 come from behind, ninth inning victory. Pineda recorded a hit in every game last weekend, and went 6-for-7 in the two games on Sunday. She also had two stolen bases.
This is the second Player of the Week honor for Pineda this year. She also won the award on February 28th after hitting .455 at the Palm Springs Tournament.
The Lions sit in first place in the PCSC with a 7-1 record. They have a two-game lead on the second place teams of Portland State and San Diego. LMU looks to stay atop the PCSC standings when it travels to Santa Clara this weekend for a pair of doubleheaders.
