LOS ANGELES - Five Lions were honored on the 2014 All-West Coast Conference Softball first and second teams, announced by the league office Tuesday. Senior third baseman Meghan Harman and sophomore shortstop Stephanie Maciel led the way with first team honors while Stephanie Crist, Alex Finie and Sterling Shuster were named to the second team.

Harman, who was a first team All-Pacific Coast Softball Conference selection as a junior, was the Lions' leader at the plate all season long, pacing the battery with a .366 batting average, 45 hits, 32 runs and 27 RBIs. She also finished the year with a .675 slugging percentage and .470 on base percentage. In WCC play, Harman batted .378 with 17 hits, including five doubles and one home run. She led all WCC players with 10 total home runs on the season.

This marked the first career all-conference honor for Maciel, who hit .291 for the season, but came on during WCC play, hitting .356 during the 14-game stretch. She also scored six runs, hit three doubles and one home run in league action.

Shuster, the Lions junior second baseman, was one of the best in the field for LMU, committing just three errors for a .974 percentage. At the plate, she was second only to Harman with her .315 average. She finished the season with 35 hits, including two doubles and four home runs, to go along with 14 runs and 26 RBIs. In league play Shuster batted .273 with a pair of home runs and nine RBIs.

Crist, a sophomore who split time between pitcher, designated hitter and first base, hit .239 for the season and .296 in WCC games. She also had four home runs and accumulated a .4.52 ERA in six WCC appearances in the pitching circle.

The freshman first baseman, Finie, rounds out the Lions honorees after batting .275 with a team-high 11 doubles. She also added four home runs and 17 RBIs over the balance of the season. In WCC play, the rookie hit .306 with four doubles, three home runs and nine RBIs.
