2010... played in 49 sets over 16 matches, making 14 early-season starts... made her collegiate debut on Aug. 27 scoring a kill, two digs and two block assists... had a season-best three kills on three occasions (Sept. 17 vs. Penn, Sept. 22 vs. San Diego and Sept. 25 at Long Beach )... averaged 0.78 blocks per set and registered a season-high five blocks on Sept. 25 at Long Beach State... notched a season-high two block solos on Sept. 25 at Long Beach State and had a share of three block assists on Aug. 28 against Loyola Marymount... had four of her 13 total digs on Sept. 4 against Colorado...

A 2010 graduate of Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, Calif... a four-year varsity letterwinner playing for Kristen Robarts... named to the AVCA's High School All-American Watch List in 2009 and eventually earned All-Southwestern League second team honors for volleyball when she was the team-leader in kills and blocks... was also a four-year track and field athlete, earning all-league first team recognition... a VMHS Scholar Athlete from 2007 to 2010...

Ayana Jean Whitaker was born August 16, 1992, in Poway, Calif... daughter of Fay and Walt Whitaker... father played basketball at Moorhead State... has one brother, Walter, who competes in track and field at Cal State Fullerton... elected to transfer to LMU because it is a gorgeous campus, has a great coaching staff, and is close to her family friends... is a former LA Clipper cheerleader... volunteered her free time with Mercy Worldwide, which provides relief and care to those in need, and to inspire, educate, and motivate those in underprivileged conditions... a studio arts major.
