AT LMU 2007... a first-team All-WCC selection and named to the fall WCC All-Academic team... earned WCC Player of the Week honors for the week of November 19 after posting 34 kills and a hitting percentage of .312 to guide LMU to victories over Santa Clara and Saint Mary's... voted LMU's Most Improved Female Athlete of the Year... played in 107 of LMU's 108 games, starting all 29 matches on the year... finished among the conference leaders in points/game (fifth, 4.84), kills/game (sixth, 4.00), service aces/game (eighth, 0.34) and digs/game (11th, 3.21)... placed third in points/game with 5.21 in WCC matches alone... also fifth in kills/game with 4.33, fifth in blocks/game with 1.06, and 12th in digs/game with 3.13 over the same span... collected a career-high 28 kills on September 14 against Oregon State... posted a season-best 72 attacks against then-No. 19 USD on November 8... notched 18 digs and a career-high five block solos against Saint Mary's on November 17... led the team in service aces (36), block solos (20), block assists (68) and total blocks (88), and was second in kills (428) and total attacks (1142)... recorded career kill number 1,000 against Saint Mary's on November 17... collected 17 double-doubles on the season, good for fourth in the WCC... 2006... was a fall WCC All-Academic selection... named WCC Player of the Week during the final week of the 2006 season after totaling 38 kills and 30 digs against Northridge and Dayton... was a Hilton Phoenix/East Mesa Sun Devil Classic All-Tournament selection after posting a career-high 24 digs against host Arizona State... also had 21 kills and 11 digs in the season and tournament-opener against Utah Valley State... finished among the WCC leaders in service aces/game (sixth, 0.38)... also ranked 14th in the WCC in both digs (2.87) and kills (3.27) per game... season-high 24 kills came in five-game loss at UC Santa Barbara... 2005... a WCC All-Freshman team selection... named the WCC Player of the Week after averaging 5.57 kills and 4.43 digs per game in wins over Saint Mary's and San Francisco... recorded double-digit kills in 14 of LMU's final 17 matches and in 12 of 14 WCC contests... recorded double-digit digs in 6 of 14 WCC matches... had five double-doubles on the season...

PERSONAL Emily Marie Day was born August 9, 1987, in Long Beach, Calif... daughter of Joan and Bob Day... has one sister, Laura, and one brother, Gregory... also recruited by Yale and Sacramento State, but chose LMU because of the location, academics, competitive volleyball program, and small class sizes... an applied mathematics major with a minor in business.
