The LMU Beach Volleyball team is 2-0 following an exciting weekend of Lion sweeps against both CSU Bakersfield and Vanguard in Huntington Beach, Calif. DiG Magazine has ranked LMU 17th in the nation, and LMU hopes to climb up the ranks as they head to Arizona for the weekend.
The two-day match up will involve a 2:00 p.m. game against Washington (0-0), and a 4:00 p.m. match against New Mexico (0-0) on Friday March 2nd, as well as an 11:00 a.m. match-up against Arizona (3-0), followed by a 6:00 p.m. match against Grand Canyon (0-4) on Saturday, the 3rd.
The first three games will take place in Tucson, before the Lions travel to Phoenix to play at Grand Canyon.
This will be the first meeting for the LMU Lions and Washington Huskies in the Beach Volleyball program. The last time LMU met both Arizona and Grand Canyon, LMU came up short, however when they last battled New Mexico, they were able to garner a victory.
Following this weekend's contests, LMU will travel to UCLA to play against Hawaii at noon and UCLA at 2:00 pm on Thursday, the 8th.
