LMU will look to earn the program's first victory on Tuesday.
March 13, 2012
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU women's sand volleyball team will be back in action today when it travels to Long Beach, Calif. to take on Long Beach State. The match will be the debut for Long Beach, while LMU dropped a decision to USC last Saturday. The Lions and 49ers are slated to begin competition at 2 p.m. from the Campus Sand Courts, located behind Campus Diamond and the 49er Softball Complex on the grounds of Long Beach State.
Fans wishing to attend the match can come for free, and are encouraged to bring their own beach seating, as there are no grandstands around the courts, but plenty of room on the grass to watch the matches. Parking is available in front of the Walter Pyramid in Lot 13, and the courts are just a short walk from there.
With three courts, Long Beach State will set up the best-of-three five matches in three flights; playing 4 and 5 together, then 3, then 2 and 1 together.
After today's match, LMU will return to action on March 26 when it travels back to Long Beach for a match against the 49ers.
