Kjirsten Magnuson reached the Championship Final in the 100 backstroke and LMU set six new personal-best times on Friday at the A3 Performance Invitational. Magnuson, who bested her own LMU record on Thursday in the 50 freestyle, turned in a fourth-place finish in the 100 backstroke (55.99) after registering a time of 55.83 in the prelims.

Senior Kjirsten Magnuson topped her own existing LMU record in the 50 freestyle on Thursday at the A3 Performance Invitational, registering a time of 23.11 in the prelims before taking fourth in the Championship final. The new record was the highlight of a solid first day of swims for the Lions at the prestigious three-day event.

Swimming in a home dual meet for the second time in as many days, the LMU swim team (1-1 in duals) bested visiting San Diego, 143-118, on Sunday at LMU's Burns Aquatic Center. The Lions won eight of the 14 events in a meet that was video streamed live on LMULions.com.

Junior Kristen Clarno won two individual events and the Lions won the 200 freestyle relay to close the meet, but LMU dropped a meet to UC Davis by a score of 142-111 on Saturday afternoon at Burns Aquatic Center.
