A 2012 graduate of Xavier College Prep in Phoenix, Ariz... a four-year varsity letterwinner under coach Colleen Murphy... garnered Xavier Outstanding Senior Athlete award... voted most improved swimmer as a sophomore... helped her team to the State Championship all four years of high school... an AIA Scholar-Athlete in each year of competition... also competed in track and field as a sophomore in high school...

Sofia Belen Abrate was born on December 2, 1994 in Buenos Aires, Argentina... parents are Bibiana and Daniel Abrate... has one brother, Tomas... considered Seattle University, San Diego, UC San Diego and Saint Louis University, but chose LMU because of the sense of community she felt when on campus, its location and Jesuit affiliation... a film and television production major.
