Sophie Allen is in her second season with LMU swimming...
AT LMU 2010-11... as a sophomore transfer from University of Maryland, made an instant impact in backstroke events for the Lions earning first team All-MPSF honors in the 100 backstroke with a second-place finish at the MPSF Championships in a personal-best time of 56.02, second-fastest in LMU history... set an LMU program record in the 200 backstroke with a 2:03.02, placing fifth in the conference final... also made it back to the finals in the 50 freestyle, placing 23rd with a 24.08, eighth-fastest in LMU history... swam on four of LMU's five relays at conference, helping the Lions to a third-place finish and new program record in the 400 medley relay and a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay... picked up six wins for the Lions in the 100 backstroke during the dual season against Pacific, CSUB, Seattle, UCSD, USD and Fresno State...
AT MARYLAND 2009-10... swam one year for the Terps... helped the team to a fourth-place finish at the ACC Championships... saw her team finish 25th overall at the 2010 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships...
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2009 graduate of Boulder High School in Boulder, Colo... a four-year varsity letterwinner for coach Curt Colby... garnered All-America accolades in each of her final three years of high school... named All-City and All-Area in all four years of competition... earned All-State recognition in each of her final three seasons... named Team MVP following each season in high school... finished high school holding six school records... medley relay won championship in 2008...

Sophie Marie Allen was born on April 11, 1991 in Boulder, Colo... parents are Diane Dustin and Arthur Allen... has one sister, Hannah... father played baseball at Arizona... chose LMU because of the promising swim team, classroom size and the location... a communications major.
