Kia Dobie is in her third season with LMU swimming...

2010-11... won the bonus consolation final (17th place) in the 400 IM and 200 backstroke at the MPSF Championships notching a personal best in the 200 backstroke of 2:04.35, fourth-fastest in LMU history... 400 IM time of 4:31.16 places her as the second-fastest Lion on the record books... also placed 21st in the 200 IM becoming the fourth-fastest in LMU history...

2009-10... was LMU's top backstroke swimmer placing fifth at the PCSC championship in the 200 distance and eighth in the 100, both personal best times and earning the third fastest 200 backstroke time in LMU history and fourth fastest 100 backstroke time...also placed 13th the 100 butterfly contributing a total of 61 points to the team total... selected to the PCSC All-Conference team... won the 100 backstroke in dual meet against Seattle University...

A 2009 graduate of Broomfield High School in Broomfield, Colo... a four-year varsity letterwinner for coach Emily Austin... served as team captain her senior season... named All-Conference in each of her four seasons... garnered All-State recognition as a freshman and sophomore and an All-American nod in three of her four years... holds five Broomfield High School records... named Northern Conference Swimmer of the Year as a senior... State Champion in the 500 freestyle.

Kia Marie Dobie was born on September 12, 1991 in Denver, Colo... parents are Cheryl and Darryl Dobie... has one brother, Darren, and two sisters, Kendra and Donna... Kendra swims at Metro State... also recruited by Colorado State, Pepperdine, Cal Lutheran, University of Missouri and Wyoming, but chose LMU because of the small classes, location, climate and swim program... is undecided on a major.
