Briefly... Sarah Hamilton is in her second season with LMU swimming, after playing two seasons of collegiate water polo at LMU... swam for the Lions as a freshman...
At LMU... 2006... joined the Lions' swimming program in her junior year while continuing as a starter on the water polo team... continued to improve in the 100 breaststroke event throughout the season, claiming critical victories in January dual meets against Pepperdine, Northern Colorado, Cal State Northridge and Cal Poly... established a new program record with her 100 breast victory over Pepperdine and then shattered her own record at the PCSC Championships, winning the event in a 1:04.80... also placed 10th in the 200 IM with a personal best time... was a member of the PCSC-winning 200 medley relay that established new PCSC and LMU records... also swam the breaststroke leg in the 400 medley relay that shattered the existing school record by over eight seconds while placing second at the PCSC Championship... 2005... completed the regular season playing in all 34 games with 14 goals on 47 attempts (29.8 percent)... added 13 steals and five assists on the season... played in every game as a Lion in her two-year career... scored three goals in the WWPA tournament, one in each game... had two goals in win over 12th-ranked Michigan (2-24-04)... 2004... played in all 31 games as a freshman... scored 22 goals (fifth on the team)... had a goal in the win over Stanford (5/8/04) during the NCAA Championships... scored three goals in the WWPAs, including one in the title game... had two games with a hat-trick, the first against Redlands (2/14/04) and the other against UC Davis (3/31/04)... added 10 steals and four assists...
High School... graduated from Santa Margarita High School and also attended Irvine High School... finished with a 3.0 GPA... was a four-year letterwinner in both swimming and water polo, earning four letters at Irvine and then four more at Santa Margarita her last two seasons... earned all-league (Sea View and Serra) and All-CIF Division I honors all four years of high school in both sports... was a national youth team member in 2001 and 2002 in water polo... was also a member of the SoCal All-Tournament Team in 2001... was a member of the 2001 national relay record breaking team in the 200-meter medley relay... also advanced to the CIF finals in the 100-meter breast stroke all four years of high school... at SMHS was league swimmer of the year last two years...
Personal... Sarah Elizabeth Hamilton was born January 10, 1985, in Santa Ana, CA... the daughter of Mary and Erik Hamilton... has two brothers, Peter and Caleb, who is on the water polo national development team... father played football at UC Irvine... an undeclared liberal arts major who hopes to go into recording arts.
