Kjirsten Magnuson is in her fourth season with LMU swimming...

2013-14...achieved First Team All-MPSF honors with two Top-3 finishes at the 2014 MPSF Championships, breaking LMU program records in the 100 backstroke with a second-place finish and career-best time of 54.90 (NCAA "B" time standard)...also placed third in the 50 freestyle with a new LMU program record and career best time of 23.1...contributed to yet another LMU program record in the 400 medley relay as the lead-off backstroke leg...qualified for the Championship in the Arena Invitational placing 6th in both the 50 free and 100 back and achieving the time standard to qualify for the US Swimming Winter National Championship...was awarded LMU's 2014 Student-Athlete of the Year, Female Strength Athlete of the Year, and Swimmer of the Year at LMU Iggy Awards...2014 Academic All-Conference selection...

2012-13... after a strong freshman year cut short by mononucleous, rebounded to become LMU's most versatile sprinter by placing sixth at the MPSF Championships in the 100 backstroke and earning second team All-Conference honors... also placed 13th in the 50 freestyle and 19th in the 100 freestyle... swam the butterfly leg on LMU's 200 medley relay that shattered the previous program record by almost two seconds... MPSF Academic All-Conference selection... was one of LMU's top scorers in dual meet competitions, placing top three in four different sprint events against UCSD, CSUB Cal Baptist and UC Davis... won the team's "Rossi" award for her hard work in the weight room...

2011-12... swam a season best 23.43 in the 50 freestyle... her time places her fifth in the top-10 in LMU history... same a season best 51.53 in the 100 freestyle... 51.53 is seventh best in LMU history... swam a season best 1:55.21 in the 200 freestyle... swam a season best 57.74 in the 100 backstroke... swam a season best 58.39 in the 100 butterfly...

A 2011 graduate of Gonzaga Preparatory School... a four-year varsity letterwinner under coach Bob Wood... named Team Captain as a junior and senior... set a state record with a mark of 23.47 in the 50 freestyle... also set the state record in the 100 freestyle, swimming a 51.28... a seven-time State Champion... named Scholastic All-American in each of her final three years... North Idaho Female Swimmer of the Year as a senior... also competed in track and field...

Kjirsten Anne Magnuson was born on July 7, 1993 in Kansas City, Mo... parents are Michele and Scott Magnuson... has one brother, Samuel... chose LMU because of the great team and coach, community feel, location, campus, and Jesuit affiliation... a natural science major.
