Thirteen LMU Swimmers Garner MPSF All-Academic Recognition

LMU placed 13 swimmers on the All-Academic team.

Terry Rinder is in her fourth season with LMU swimming...

AT LMU
2010-11...distance swimmer for the Lions contributing valuable points in all the dual meets throughout the season in the 500, 1000, and 1650 events... was 22nd at the MPSF Championships in the 1650 with a collegiate-best of 17:47.72, ranking fifth on LMU's All-Time list... also swam collegiate-bests in the 500 freestyle and 100 and 200 backstroke events at the conference meet, entering the All-Time list at 10th in the 500 freestyle... All-MPSF Scholar-Athlete and Academic Team selection...

2009-10... scored in all three events at the PCSC Championship, including an 11th place finish in the 1650 freestyle, a 17th place finish in the 500 freestyle, and a 19th place finish in the 400 individual medley contributing 31 individual points to team's total... consistently scored in the top three places in the 1000 freestyle in dual meets throughout the season... won the 500 freestyle against CSUN...

2008-09... as a distance freestyle specialist, placed eighth at the PCSC Conference Championships in the 1650 freestyle, earning All-Conference honors... also placed 16thin the 400 IM and 19thin the 500 freestyle adding 40 points to the Lion's team total... scored many dual meet points throughout the season including a first place win against Seattle University in the 1650 freestyle with the third fastest time in LMU history... voted "Most Inspirational" and "Best Student" by teammates...

A 2008 graduate of Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Ariz... was a four-year letterwinner for coach Erica McClurg... 2007 State Champion in the 500 freestyle... served a vital role in her team's 2007 State Champion 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays... named to East Valley Tribune's All-Tribune first team for Arizona Class 4A schools... recipient of the Arcadia High School Outstanding Swimming Performer Award in 2005 and 2007... competed against teammate, Christina Cannata, in high school... a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American candidate in 2006, 2007 and 2008... member of the National Honor Society...

Terry Katherine Rinder was born on November 24, 1989 in Scottsdale, Ariz... parents are Sheila and Daniel Rinder... also recruited by the University of Washington, Arizona State, University of Colorado and UC Irvine, but chose LMU because of the comfortable and inviting campus atmosphere and the diversity of the student body... majoring in biology.
