The LMU swim team won six of nine relay races over Pepperdine and Alaska Fairbanks on Wednesday at LMU's Burns Aquatics Center. Following the nine official races, the three teams intermingled to race in a "mixed-team" 300 yard relay.

LMU's relay of Angelina Prat, Kristen Brennand and Hannah Calton combined to win the 300 butterfly to open competition (3:01.29) before the Lions took the third event of the day, the 300 breaststroke, in 3:30.38. The trio of Mary Kate Reid, Kailee Mora and Hailey Chisholm teamed for that victory.

The 500 freestyle relay also went to the Lions as Lauren Saylor, Kjirsten Magnuson, Brennand and Kristen Clarno stopped the clock at 4:46.44 in front of Alaska's A relay. The Lions went on to sweep the final three races of the day, earning victories in the 200 freestyle (Kailee Mora, Lauren Saylor, Lise Soule, Magnuson - 1:41.28), the 400 IM (Magnuson, Clarno, Calton, Brennand - 4:10.18) and the 400 freestyle relay (Clarno, Saylor, Soule, Calton - 3:40.34).

The University of Alaska took home victories in the 300 backstroke (2:57.95), 800 freestyle relay (7:52.24) and 400 medley relay (4:02.56), but it Pepperdine's depth proved essential as the Waves edged the Nanooks, 80-79, in the scoring.

The Lions will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Cal State Bakersfield to compete against the Roadrunners and UC San Diego.
