Lions Drop Duals to CSU Bakersfield, UC San Diego
The LMU swimming team fell to CSU Bakersfield and UC San Diego on Saturday.

The LMU swimming team dropped a pair of decisions to CSU Bakersfield and UC San Diego on Saturday in Bakersfield, Calif. The Lions fell by a count of 201-92 to the host Roadrunners while coming up short, 219-72, to UC San Diego.
Magnuson shared first place in the 100 backstroke, posting a time of 58.24 to match the effort from Alaska's Victoria Adams. She later narrowly missed earning her second first-place finish in the 50 freestyle, placing second behind UCSD's Colleen Daley (24.19) with a mark of 24.30.
Rachel Dekar managed a top-three finish in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, touching the wall in 1:06.59 behind a pair of UCSD swimmers in the 100. Austine Lee won the event in 1:05.43 before her teammate Jaimie Bryan finished second in 1:06.19. Dekar returned to the water in the 200, finishing third in 2:24.98. Bryan won the even for the Tritons in 2:23.33, edging her teammate Eva Chen at 2:24.46.
LMU will return to action at home on Friday, hosting the two-day Beach Cup in Burns Aquatics Center. Pepperdine, San Diego and Fresno State will join the Lions in competition. The Lions dropped a dual meet to San Diego earlier this year on the road.
