200 Medley Relay Shatters Program Record

The LMU swim team competed in a pair of relay events on Wednesday during day one of the MPSF Championships at East Los Angeles College. LMU's 200 medley relay team of Sophie Allen, Rachel Dekar, Kjirsten Magnuson and Camille Hopp teamed to shatter the existing program record of 1:44.23, turning in a time of 1:42.46. LMU sits tied for seventh with Cal Poly after one day of competition from the Championships.

Split times for the 200 medley included Allen's backstroke (26.45), Dekar's breaststroke (28.12), Magnuson's butterfly (25.28) and Hopp's freestyle (22.61). Hopp's time was the second-fastest split in the competition.

LMU's 800 freestyle relay of Kristen Clarno, Stephanie Horwitz, Angelina Prat and Katie Rick also hit the water on Wednesday, finishing eighth overall in a time of 7:37.16
