LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU swimming team will travel to San Diego, Calif. to take on San Diego and Fresno State at the Palm Tree Invitational this Saturday, January 31 at 10:30 a.m. The Lions enter the day toting a 3-4 dual meet record after dropping each of their last three duals, including meets against New Mexico State, UC San Diego, and Northern Arizona on January 17.

The invitational format will follow a three-session agenda, starting with the 200 freestyle relay and concluding with the 400 freestyle event in the third and final session. In addition, scoring will follow an invitational format, where the two top relays per team will score and individual events hold unlimited scoring.

LMU dropped a 172.5-83.5 decision against Northern Arizona on the road at Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz. when it last competed. In addition to winning every event on the day, the Lumberjacks set a Wall Aquatic Center record in the final race of the day, the 400-meter freestyle relay. The Lions also finished a relay squad faster than the previous pool record in that event. Yvonne Le placed second in three different events for the Lions, while Anne Scott finished second in both the 50 and 100 freestyle to lead the Lions. Trinity O'Neill and Tammy Choy each finished in second place once over the course of the day.

The Toreros are 0-4 in dual meets entering Saturday's invitational, following a loss at Northern Arizona on January 24. Fresno State is 0-7 following a close fall to Cal State Bakersfield on January 17. After competing at the Palm Tree Invitational, LMU will return to action on February 7 when it takes on Cal State Bakersfield in Bakersfield, Calif. at 1 p.m.
