The LMU swimming team was awarded Scholar All-America status by the CSCAA.
July 10, 2014
The LMU swimming program continues to develop its student-athletes into well-rounded individuals, both in the pool and the classroom. Recently, the Lions were named to College Swimming Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team honors list, supported by Nike Swim, for the 2014 spring semester.
"LMU, and our program specifically, sets high goals both in the pool and in the classroom," head coach Bonnie Adair said. "Our team definitely takes pride in earning the Scholar All-America honor."
The Spring Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the semester/quarter coinciding with the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA/CCCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
The LMU swimmers recorded a 3.32 team GPA to qualify for the award.
In addition to the Scholar All-America awards, the CSCAA, which is the oldest coaches organization in America, recognizes All-American swimmers and divers at the National Championships every year.
