LOS ANGELES, Calif. -
The LMU swimming team will make the short trip to Malibu, Calif. this weekend, participating in the Malibu Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Friday's slate, which begins at 2 p.m., consists of the distance events, while Saturday will see sprint and mid-distance events contested beginning at 10 a.m.
LMU will compete with host Pepperdine, Biola, Cal Lutheran and Azusa Pacific at the invitational. Familiar with the majority of the field, LMU defeated Azusa Pacific and Biola at both the PCSC Relays and Pentathlon two weeks ago, in addition to beating Pepperdine at the Relays.
At the Pentathlon, Katie Rick had an outstanding meet emerging as the overall winner in the freestyle pentathlon. She achieved a personal-best time in the 500 freestyle and was just tenths of a second from another personal-best in the 200 freestyle. Both Kristen Clarno and Camille Hopp were runner-ups in their respective pentathlon events, specifically Clarno in the long medley and Hopp in the short medley.
Pepperdine's WaveCasts will be broadcasting both days' action live and for FREE. Friday's action can be viewed here. For Saturday's events, click here.
