Sophomore Alyce-Faye Eichelberger took home Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Division I Athlete of the Week honor, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Eichelberger and the Lions most recently competed at the A3 Performance Invitational hosted by UC San Diego and San Diego State.
Eichelberger, who scored 54 points in the A3 Performance Invitational, made the Championship Final in both the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. In the 50 freestyle, she placed seventh overall in 24.18. She also claimed seventh overall in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.63. On Saturday, she placed 16th in the 100 freestyle with a lifetime-best time of 52.74. She also swam on LMU's 200 medley relays and 200 & 400 freestyle relays.
LMU will now take a break from competition, returning to competitive water on January 6 when it hosts CSU Bakersfield and UC San Diego from the Burns Aquatics Center at Noon.
