Quartet Heads to US Winter Nationals
Four LMU swimmers will compete against some of the best in the world this week.

A quartet of LMU swimmers will head to Knoxville, Tenn. this week to swim against some of the best swimmers in the world at the 2013 AT&T US Winter National Championships. Kristen Clarno, Rachel Dekar, Hannah Calton and Kjirsten Magnuson will all hit the water for the Lions.
The National Championships, which will take place at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee from Thursday to Saturday, will feature some of the biggest names in the sport, including Olympians Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky.
Dekar will be swimming in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, while Calton will swim in the 100 and 200 butterfly events. Dekar holds the LMU record in the 100 breaststroke, while Calton recently set new marks in the 100 and 200 butterfly events at the Arena Invitational. The LMU record holder in the event, Clarno will compete in the 200 individual medley, while Magnuson will represent the Lions in the 100 backstroke. Also competing are top collegiate swimmers from the host University of Tennessee, California, Indiana and Louisville, all ranked among the top-15 programs in the country.
