LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU swimming team will host New Mexico State in the final home dual meet of the season this Friday, December 19 at 11 a.m. The Lions enter the meet toting a 3-1 dual meet record after defeating Seattle University, Cal State Bakersfield and Fresno Pacific earlier this year.

The Lions are coming off the dual-meet victory over Seattle University on November 9, and a strong showing at the Nike Invitational from November 20 to November 22. The Lions won eight of the 11 races on the day en route to the victory over Seattle University. At the Nike Invitational, LMU swimming finished a program-best seventh overall with 383 points. The Lions bested last year's 10th-place finish at the meet by defeating UC Irvine and University of New Mexico for the first time in program history, as well as beating Pepperdine and San Diego for the fourth year in a row. The Lions performed extremely well throughout the three-day competition, as 12 LMU swimmers posted season-best times and made it to the finals and scored points for the team. The 12 individual scorers doubled the previous LMU program-high for the Nike Cup of six.

New Mexico State last competed on Saturday when they defeated San Diego in San Diego, Calif. by a slim 150-144 tally. The Aggies have posted dual-meet victories over Northern Colorado, Boise State, Air Force, Rice, North Texas, Northern Arizona and San Diego so far this year.

After the dual meet against New Mexico State, LMU will return to action on January 10 when it takes on UC San Diego on the road at 11 a.m.
