Penka Fileva

After an impressive four-year career as a player at Loyola Marymount University, Penka Fileva is in her second season with the program as an assistant coach. Earning her degree in finance, Fileva finished her four years at LMU as the 2003 LMU Athlete of the Year and second on the all-time wins list in LMU history with an 85-57 record. Her final season saw her post a 21-15 record, going 10-4 at number two singles. She was a two-time all-conference selection, earning first-team All-WCC as a senior and honorable mention honors as a junior. She was a first-team All-WCC selection in doubles as well. The Sofia, Bulgaria native finished with a 21-17 singles record and a 14-14 doubles mark in 2002 while going 19-12, leading the team with the most wins in 2001. She had the best win total of her career at 24-13 in singles play as a freshman in 2000. In addition to the all-time wins list, Fileva finished seventh in LMU history with a winning percentage of 59.9 and tied for seventh in double victories with a 62-47 mark. Her 15-8 doubles record with teammate Patrycia Hubl was 10th all-time.
