Sanchez Transitions from Coaching to Administrative Role

The only person to lead LMU women's tennis program will transition out of the coaching role in 2015-16.

Briefly... Pavla Mesterova enters her third season of LMU tennis after playing one season of collegiate tennis at Texas-Arlington... enters the 2007-08 season with a preseason ranking of No. 40 in singles...

At LMU... 2006-07... entered the season with a preseason ranking of No. 51 in singles and No. 29 in doubles with then teammate Robyn Baker... went 27-6 as a singles player, going 19-3 in dual matches at No. 1 singles... also went 20-10 in doubles action... finished the season ranked 60th as an individual, while winning the WCC Player of the Year award... named one of four alternates for the NCAA Individual Championship... her 27 wins ranks fifth all-time in LMU history for victories in a single season while her .818 winning percentage is the best in program history... in two season at LMU, she has set a career record of 52-16... her career winning percentage of .765 is tops in program history... earned All-WCC First Team honors in doubles with former Lion teammate, Robyn Baker... in singles, had wins over No. 39 Lindsay Burdette (Stanford), No. 46 Riza Zalameda (UCLA)... finished the season with a regional ranking of No. 9 in singles...

At LMU... 2005-06... had one of the better single seasons in LMU history with 25-10 record, ranking tied for ninth in LMU history... also had a doubles record of 19-16... the 19 wins in doubles action is ranked tied for seventh in LMU history... earned first-team All-WCC as both a singles and doubles player... claimed LMU Co-Female Athlete of the Year honors... also named LMU Newcomer of the Year... finished the season ranked 72nd in singles and 52nd in doubles... in singles had wins over No. 26 Dominika Dieskova (Oregon), No. 38 Hannah Grady (LBSU), No. 98 Audre Lambert (SMC)... she and Baker also had impressive wins, including a win over the No. 36 and No. 42 ranked doubles teams...

At Texas-Arlington... 2005... played at the top singles spot and finished ranked 109th in singles play... held her singles ranking all season, going undefeated in dual singles competition...

High School... a 2004 graduate of Hotel School in Prague, Czech Republic... was a three-time first place winner of the Prague tennis championship... took third place in the Czech Republic championship in 2002... graduated high school with honors and was a school trainee in Japan for three months...

Personal... Pavla Mesterova was born September 16, 1984, in Prague, Czech Republic... daughter of Jana Mesterova and Stefan Mester... father participated in track and field at Pedagogue University... has one sister, Jana... an international business major.
