Lions Fall to #59 Oklahoma State
The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team put up a fight against No. 59 Oklahoma State on Sunday but fell 4-0.

TULSA, OK - The LMU women's tennis team finished off weekend play at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Sunday, losing to 59th ranked Oklahoma State in a tough match, 4-0.
LMU struggled throughout the day against the Cowgirls, as senior Pavla Mesterova did not finish her singles match at the No. 1 slot. Senior Tamara Tanner and junior Tina Razloznik also did not finish at the No. 2 and 3 singles positions.
In other singles play, sophomore Audrey Bulkley was defeated by Sasha Belova (6-3, 6-3). At the No. 4 slot, Cowgirl JoAnne Karaitiana defeated freshman Jasmin Heckel in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, while sophomore Bliss Nixon fell to Maryna Tkachenko, 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles action, Oklahoma State's Allen/Shatkovskaya combination narrowly defeated Mesterova and Tanner at the No. 1 position, 8-6. In another close match, Razloznik and Heckel fell to Tkachenko/ Karaitiana, 9-7. Finally, the Cowgirls duo of Belova/Tkachanko defeated LMU's Nixon and Bulkley, 8-4.
Up next for LMU, the Lions head back to Southern California to take on San Diego State in San Diego on February 6 at 1:30 p.m.
