Los Angeles, CA ? Loyola Marymount University?s (LMU) 66th-ranked women?s tennis team defeated the UC Riverside Highlanders 7-0 Friday afternoon at LMU?s tennis complex in the Lions? season opener.

The Lions opened strong taking all three doubles matches, all winning 8-2. Angelina Zdorovytska and Andrea Lord defeated Kristina Schuster and Kelley Takeshita, followed by Julie Hladik and Georgina Dinham playing the second seeded Michelle Beyronneau and Miranda Lagac. Penka Fileva and Edit Pakay played at No. 3 where they defeated Carolyn Mitchell and Lindsay Litvinoff.

LMU was equally powerful in the singles matches as the Lions all won in straight sets.

The Lions will host Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at LMU?s Tennis Complex.
