LMU's No. 66 Women's Tennis Team Takes Down Titans
Lions defeat Cal State Fullerton in straight-set 7-0 victory

Los Angeles, CA - The Loyola Marymount University (LMU) 66th-ranked women's tennis team defeated the Cal State Fullerton Titans team 7-0 Wednesday afternoon at LMU?s Tennis Complex. The Lions improve to 2-1 on the season while the Titans fall to 0-2.
Opening with doubles action, the Lions swept the Titans down the order, 8-1, 8-2, and 9-7. Julie Hladik and Georgina Dinham played against Jessica Martin and Mayra Mariscal in the No. 3 doubles match, the closest doubles match the Lions have face so far this season.
All six Lions' singles players took their matches in straight sets. Andrea Lord played the Lions No. 1 seed, defeating Ana Iacob 6-1, 6-1. Edit Pakay didn?t give Ioana Sisoe a single point in the No. 2 match, as Pakay took the 6-0. 6-0 victory. Angelina Zdorovytska defeated Carla Rocha at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2. Penka Fileva played at No.4 for the Lions, giving up only two points to CSUF's Martin (6-1, 6-1). Dinham assumed the No. 5 spot for the Lions, defeating Mariscal 6-0, 6-1. Lions newcomer Jessica Placencia rounded out LMU?s lineup in her collegiate debut as she defeated Caroline Freeman.
Next, the Lions will host the 65th-ranked Ducks from the University of Oregon on Friday, Feb. 8 at the LMU Tennis Complex.
