Aztecs Defeat the Lions, 6-1

LMU (3-4) is winless on the road so far this season, and the trip to San Diego concluded a stretch of three straight away from the LMU Tennis Center. After a defeat earlier in the week to sixth- ranked USC, San Diego State bounced back to go 4-3 on the season. The Lions fell early in the doubles round. Freshman Kristine Kouyoumjian and senior Adriana Radinovic lost to Aquilar and Hoorn, 8-2. Wais and Buth won the point for the Aztecs by defeating junior Reka Rohonyi and sophomore Lisa Piller, 8-2. On court one, senior April Bisharat and junior Claudia Razzeto won their match with Casanova and Antonana Iriar, 8-4.
In singles, the Lions got their only point on court four by Kouyoumjian who defeated Nguyen 6-2, 6-2. Bisharat fell in a third-set tiebreak 6-7, 6-2, 10-6 to Wais. Hoorn defeated Radinovic 6-4, 6-1 in the first match to close. Rohonyi lost to Antonana Iriar 6-0, 6-2. On court two, Razzeto fell to Aguilar 6-3, 6-1. Piller was beaten by Buth 6-2, 6-2. After three matches on the road, LMU returns home to host Nevada Thursday, Feb. 28 at 1:30 p.m. - GO LIONS – Singles competition Doubles competition |
