Newly Ranked Lions Win at Cal Poly

Like LMU Women's Tennis on Facebook | Like LMU Athletics on Facebook | Follow @Twitter SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Playing their first match as a ranked team since 2007, the No. 72 LMU women's tennis team defeated Cal Poly 5-2 on the road Sunday. The win marked the team's first victory away from the LMU Tennis Center this season. The Lions improve to 4-5 on the season, while the Mustangs drop to 3-11. The Lions won two of three doubles matches to win the point. On Court 1, April Bisharat and Claudia Razzeto defeated their opponent 8-2. On Court 3, Adriana Radinovic and Miya Jin won their match 8-6, which secured the doubles point for LMU. In singles play, Bisharat, who is ranked No. 19 in the Southwest region, won a tough match over Cal Poly's Louise Oxnevad 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. Also taking her match to three sets was Reka Rohonyi, who defeated Ane McPike 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 on Court 5. Kristine Kouyoumjian won her match on Court 4 6-2, 6-3 and Lisa Piller won her match 6-2, 6-2 on Court 6. These four singles wins gave LMU the 5-2 team victory.
