LMU Lions Top Princeton Tigers, 5-2
With a different lineup the Lions were able to take the win over Princeton.

Los Angeles, CA - The Loyola Marymount University women's tennis team defeated the Princeton Tigers 5-2 Friday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Courts as the Lions improve to 7-8 on the season.
LMU led off the day with the doubles point, taking two of the three matches. At No. 1, Andrea Lord and Angelina Zdorovytska defeated Princeton's Bhargaua/Kruhnamwthx duo, 8-1. The Tigers answered back with a win at the No. 2 spot as their Bhupathi/Watson deuce defeated LMU's Edit Pakay and Julie Hladik, 8-6. LMU secured the point with a No. 3 win with Penka Fileva and Jessica Placencia defeating Berg/Kobishyn in a close 9-8 match.
The Lions etched out four of the six singles match with Pakay playing her first match of the season at No. 1, taking the straight-set win from Kristi Watson, 6-3, 6-4. Lord, the usual No. 1, played at No. 2 for the Lions with equally successful results as she defeated Priya Bhupathi in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Fileva took the win at No. 3 over Stephanie Berg in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. The Lions got their final win of the match at No. 4 with Zdorovytska defeating Mateya McCoy in three sets, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1. Princeton was able to pull out wins at No. 4 with Keten Corhn defeating Hladik in three, 2-6, 6-3, 3-6. The Tigers also took the win at No. 6 with Alex Kobishyn defeating Placencia in two, 6-2, 6-1.
The Lions will next host San Diego on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the LMU Tennis Courts.
