74th-Ranked Women's Tennis Defeats Santa Clara 6-1.
The Lions continue in conference play with ease taking third-straight WCC win.

Los Angles, CA - The 74th-ranekd Loyola Marymount University women's tennis team defeated the Santa Clara University Broncos 6-1 Wednesday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Courts in West Coast Conference play. LMU improves to 10-8 overall and 3-0 in WCC matches with the win.
In singles play, Edit Pakay collected her third-straight win playing as the Lions No. 1 singles player with her victory over Janelle Kaloi in straight sets (6-4, 6-2). Andrea Lord also picked up her third win at No.2 two with the straight-set win over Christine Limbers (6-2, 6-3). Penka Fileva took up No. 3 for the Lions defeating SCU's Mariko Kawakami in two (6-0, 6-3). Angelina Zdorovytska was forced into three sets, however held steady for her win at No. 4 over Nicole McCord (7-5, 1-6, 6-2). Julie Hladik played at No. 5 for the Lions with a near-perfect win over Ashley Campbell in two (6-3, 6-0). SCU's Pati Ruiz was the only player from the Bronco's roster to pick up a win, as she defeated LMU's Georgie Dinham at No. 6 in two sets (6-4, 6-0).
The Lions took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
Next, the Lions will continue with WCC play when they host the University of Portland on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m.
