Lions Beat Gonzaga, Improve to 9-7
The No. 73 LMU women's tennis team won two matches in as many days to move to 2-2 in the WCC.

LOS ANGELES – The No. 73 Lions got a big 5-2 win over Gonzaga at the LMU Tennis Center on Saturday. The Lions won the point in the doubles round and clinched the team win early on in singles play. LMU improves to 9-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while Gonzaga drops to 9-8 overall and 0-5 in the WCC.
In the doubles round, the Lions got two quick wins to clinch the point. First to finish were Claudia Razzeto and Adriana Radinovic, who won 8-1 on Court 2. Shortly after, Tory Parravi and Kristine Kouyoumjian also won 8-1 on Court 3 to secure the point for LMU.
The Lions would take care of business quickly in the singles round as well. First to finish was the freshman Kouyoumjian, who was playing on Court 3 for the first time in her collegiate career. after moving up to Court 4 Friday. Kouyoumjian proved she can win anywhere as she got the double bagel 6-0, 6-0 win in under an hour. Next to finish was Parravi, who was playing on Court 1 for the first time this season. She also proved to be comfortable on a new court as she won 6-3, 6-3.
Reka Rohonyi was next to get her win as she clinched the team win for the Lions with a 6-1, 6-2 victory on Court 5. Then Miya Jin won 6-2, 6-2 on Court 4 for the Lions’ fifth point. Gonzaga would win in third set tiebreakers on the remaining two courts for their only points of the afternoon.
The Lions’ next match will be Wednesday, April 10 at Cal State Fullerton at 2:00 p.m.
