Lions Top Zags 4-2
LMU advances to Consolation Finals against Portland.

San Diego, Calif - After another close loss to USF, Loyola Marymount Women's Tennis (9-12) bounced back with a win on Saturday morning. In the second day of the WCC championships, LMU defeated Gonzaga 4-2.
The Lions began the match on top. LMU won the doubles round 2-1. Loyola Marymount won the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions for the second straight match. Jasmin Heckel and Elisaveta Pironkova won their second match in a row at the No. 2 spot. Heckel and Pironkova topped Gonzaga's Rika Mehndiratta and Danielle Farmer 8-2. Tina Razloznik and Shauna Morgan also won their second match of the championships today. Razloznik and Morgan beat Madeline Edson-White and Clare Dodge 8-5.
LMU clinched the match before the singles round even ended. Razloznik brought home a victory in the No. 1 spot. Razloznik defeated Aglaya Kokurina 7-6, 6-0. Jane Pringle won her second singles match of the championships. Pringle took home the victory in the No. 4 position (6-1, 6-3) against GU's Dodge. Morgan sealed the win for the Lions in the No. 5 position. Morgan beat Sophie Lanatta 6-0, 6-3.
Loyola Marymount Women's Tennis now advances to the finals of the consolation bracket. LMU will face the Portland Pilots on Sunday for fifth place in the conference. Match Time is set for 11:30 p.m. at Barnes Tennis Center.
