Long Beach, Calif. -- The LMU women’s tennis team had a dominant performance at the second annual Beach Tennis Fall Invitational hosted by Long Beach St., getting tournament wins in singles and doubles competition.

Including all four Lions performances in singles and doubles play, the Lions had an overall record of 17-5, one of the best showings of any team represented at the tournament.

Senior Miya Jin showed promise for her final season as a Lion as she won the Flight B singles draw for LMU, going undefeated for the weekend.

That wasn’t the only finals win for the Lions on the weekend though as freshman Laura Mueller and sophomore Kristine Kouyoumjian won the Flight B doubles competition. Kouyoumjian bounced did not play much in doubles during her freshman season, but she seems to have found a niche with Mueller this fall.

Also competing in doubles was the team of Jin and senior Reka Rohonyi. This LMU duo found success together as well, finishing third in the Flight A doubles draw.

Rohonyi and Kouyoumjian also competed in singles play this weekend. In the Flight C singles draw, Rohonyi advanced to the finals before dropping a close match to finish second. Kouyoumjian played well on her own also, finishing third in the Flight A singles draw.

Next up for the Lions will be the Saint Mary’s Tournament next weekend.
