The LMU women's tennis team has started strong at the ITA Southwest Regional being hosted by San Diego and San Diego State this weekend. Eva Marie Voracek, Veronica Miroshnichenko and Siobhan Anderson are all still alive in the main draw of singles.
Voracek, the 14th seed in the tournament, will face Constance Branstine of USC on Friday in the round of 32. Anderson will face Pepperdine's Dzina Milovanovic in her third-round match, while 10th-seed Miroshnichenko will play UCSB's Lise Sentenac.
On the doubles side, Anderson/Romeka will face Ahmed/Lahey (Pepperdine), and 7th-seed Voracek/Miroshnichenko will face Bendetti/Wiley (UCLA) in the main draw. De Lucas/Tumosa will also compete in the consolation bracket after dropping a match to Kulikov/Weissmann (USC) in the opening round.
Camila Tumosa will continue singles play in the consolation bracket, drawing a match against Natalia Munoz of Long Beach State. Anna Romeka will also compete in the consolation round, facing Caisey Emery of Cal State Fullerton. Finally, Yesica De Lucas will play Nnena Nadozie of San Diego State.
