After reaching the semifinal rounds of the 2017 ITA Southwest Regional hosted by San Diego and San Diego State, freshmen Veronica Miroshnichenko and Eva Marie Voracek saw their run at the tournament end on Saturday in the semifinal rounds.
Miroshnichenko faced Mayar Sherif in the singles semifinal, dropping the decision, 6-2, 7-5. With the victory, Sherif has advanced to face teammate, Ashley Lahey in the final.
Scheduled to play a doubles match against Da Silveira/Dubavets (UCSB) in the semifinals, Voracek/Miroshnichenko had to retire due to illness, sending the Gauchos into the final.
Camila Tumosa played one final match at the ITA Southwest Regional on Saturday, earning an 8-6 victory over Hawaii's Taylor Lau.
With the fall season now in the books, LMU will return to action after the new year, traveling to USC for a 1:30 p.m. match on January 19.
