Freshman Veronica Miroshnichenko won a second-round match from the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, advancing to the Round of 16 on Friday.
Miroshnichenko faced Arianne Hartono (Ole Miss) on Thursday in the second round, and the native of Moscow, Russia posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory to earn a match against 13th-seed Fernanda Contreras (Vanderbilt) on Friday at 1 p.m.
Miroshnichenko and fellow freshman Eva Marie Voracek also teamed in doubles play from the Fall Championships, dropping a second-round match to Elena Christofi/Morgan Coppoc (Georgia), 6-2, 6-1.
