Freshman Veronica Miroshnichenko had her run at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships come to an end in the round of 16 on Friday. The native of Moscow, Russia dropped a 7-5, 6-1 decision to Vanderbilt's Fernanda Contreras - the 13th seed in the tournament.
LMU sent two players to the Fall Championships this year, as fellow freshman Eva Marie Voracek also represented the Lions in singles and teamed with Miroshnichenko in doubles.
The selections to the Fall National Championship were the first for LMU since Pavla Mesterova competed in the 2007 ITA National Indoor Championships.
