Lions Advance at Bulldog Classic
All four Lions advance in the singles tournaments, with Tory Parravi advancing to the semifinals.

FRESNO, Calif. -- The LMU women's tennis team continued their fall schedule at the 13th annual Bulldog Classic over the weekend in Fresno, Calif. The event took place at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center and the Sierra Sport and Racquet Club and featured teams from throughout the West.
Representing LMU was junior Reka Rohonyi, sophomores Tory Parravi, Logan Finnell, and Lisa Piller, with Piller playing in her first matches for LMU women's tennis. All four Lions played singles and doubles matches.
All of the Lions' success over the weekend came in the singles draws. In Flight A, Rohonyi defeated Cal Poly's Ane McPike 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 32 before losing 6-0, 6-7 (5), 6-1 to Danielle Flores of Saint Mary's in the round of 16. Parravi began in the round of 16, defeating Fresno Pacific's Erika Januskova 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-0. The LMU sophomore then beat Fresno St.'s Bianca Modoc 6-4, 6-4 before finally losing in the Flight A semifinals to Fresno St.'s Heather McQueen 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.
In the Flight B singles, Finnell defeated Jessica Stokes of Cal State Stanislaus 6-3, 6-1 in the round of 16 but lost in the quarterfinals 7-5, 6-0 to Gergana Boncheva of Pacific. Piller also won in the round of 16 by a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 over Kelsey Chrisco of Cal State Stanislaus. Piller then fell in the quarterfinals to Fresno St.'s Anne Susdorf 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles, Parravi and Rohonyi lost a close 9-8 (8-6) fight with Fresno Pacific's Januskova and Marie Boura. Finell and Piller defeated Gbadamosi and Rozell of Montana, 9-7, before they fell in their second match 8-3 to Saint Mary's Flores and Hanah Liljekvist.
The Lions wrap up their fall schedule this weekend at the Jack Kramer Tennis Club Fall Tournament in Palos Verdes, Calif. This event begins this Friday, Nov. 9.
