Women's Tennis Finishes Rainy Fall Tournament Play
The LMU women's tennis team played at San Diego State last weekend.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - LMU finished its fall tournament schedule last weekend, competing at the San Diego State Fall Classic. The tournament, originally scheduled as a three-day tournament, was changed to two as day two of the Classic was canceled due to weather.
In the black doubles bracket, LMU doubles team of Tory Parravi and Ashley Anderson defeated Patton and Diamanti of EWU, 8-5. Advancing to the next round, Parravi/Anderson suffered a loss of 8-5 to Facey and Tatsuno of UCI. Also playing in doubles in the white bracket were Elisaveta Pironkova and Logan Finnell, who suffered losses against UNM and UCI.
Anderson and Pironkova competed strongly for LMU singles play over the last weekend. In the red bracket, Anderson defeated Patton of EWU, 6-4, 6-1 in the consolation bracket after a loss to Air Force's Christine Molina in the first round. In the black bracket, Pironkova dropped a decision to Steffi Rath of DU before defeating Grback of UNM by a count of 7-5, 6-4 in the consolation bracket. Logan Finnell and Tory Parravi also competed in singles play, falling in tough matches in the consolation bracket.
The Lions will return to action on January 20 at the CSULB Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
