Kouyoumjian, Jin, Perez Named All-WCC

San Bruno, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference announced the 2014 Women's Tennis All-WCC awards on Monday, with three Lions being recognized for singles play and one pair being honored for doubles. Sophomore Kristine Kouyoumjian was named to the All-WCC Second Team, while senior Miya Jin and freshman Jessica Perez earned honorable mention. Jin and Perez were also named to the All-WCC Second Team for doubles play. It was the first selection to an All-WCC team for all three players.

Kouyoumjian started 2014 on Court 3 but made her way up the lineup and settled in at the No. 1 spot for singles, where she won four matches against opposing top players. Senior Miya Jin earned honorable mention honors in her final season with LMU after finishing the season with four wins on Court 3 for singles, including a few key matches. In her first season at LMU, Perez was also named to the honorable mention team after playing on Court 2 in singles for the Lions, where she won seven matches. In addition to their singles accolades, Jin and Perez were also recognized for doubles play. They finished the season 11-8 on the top court for doubles.

LMU finished the regular season at 8-14 and 2-7 in conference play, finishing eighth in the regular season. They open play at the WCC Championships in San Diego this week when they face the USD Toreros on Wednesday.
