Following one of the best seasons in program history, LMU women's tennis sports the #5 ranking in the Southwest Region according to the most recent Oracle/ITA listing. The Lions were also tabbed with the #55 ranking in the final ITA Team rankings of the year - the highest mark in program history.

Individually, Veronica Miroshnichenko and Eva Marie Voracek also find themselves among the Top-20 singles players in the Southwest Region following standout freshman campaigns, checking in at #6 and #19, respectively. The duo also places #4 in the doubles rankings.

The Lions finished 2017-18 with a 17-6 overall record and a 7-2 mark in the WCC to earn a share of second place in the WCC standings. The second-place finish in the WCC is the best since LMU placed second in 2006, while the 17 wins are the most going 22-10 in 1995. The Lions also went a perfect 10-0 from the LMU Tennis Center this year. Playing as the third seed in the WCC Championship Tournament, LMU advanced to the WCC Championship Match, eventually dropping the decision to top-seed Pepperdine.

Miroshnichenko reached the Round of 16 at the 2018 NCAA Division I Championship in May, becoming the first-ever All-American in LMU women's tennis history. The native of Moscow, Russia finished her freshman year with a 24-10 overall singles mark. In addition to her All-American tag, she also took home West Coast Conference Co-Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the All-WCC first team as a singles player.

Similarly, Miroshnichenko/Voracek advanced to the Round of 16 at the Division I Championships, eventually finishing the 2018 season with a 23-8 doubles record. The duo was named first team All-WCC at the conclusion of the regular season.

Proving herself individually in singles, Voracek compiled a 20-7 overall singles record and a 5-0 mark in WCC play while competing at #2 in the order. Voracek managed a 13-3 record in dual matches this year en route to earning a spot on the All-WCC second team.

Both players also participated in the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships earlier this year.
