Trio of Lions Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - 2012 ITA All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recognized three members of the Loyola Marymount University women's tennis team for academic excellence earlier this month. Soon-to-be sophomores Ana Lucia Fuentes and Madison Wesseln join recent graduate Elisaveta Pironkova on the list. "This is a great honor for Elisaveta, Ana Lucia and Madison, and is a positive reflection on our team's commitment to academic as well as athletic excellence," said head women's tennis coach Jamie Sanchez. "We are extremely proud of their accomplishments on the court and in the classroom." In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria:
