The LMU women's tennis team will open the 2013-14 season this weekend, traveling to San Diego State for the SDSU Fall Classic I. The annual tournament, which begins on Friday, September 27 and runs through Sunday, will feature seven teams.

Among the teams competing at the Aztec Tennis Center will be the host Aztecs, first-year Division I member, Grand Canyon University, San Diego, New Mexico State, Pepperdine and Duke.

The tournament will feature five singles draws and three doubles brackets. Action will get underway each day beginning with doubles play with first serve set for 9 a.m. with singles competition immediately following.

LMU newcomers Jessica Perez, Laura Mueller, Elanor Grossman, Julia Norlin and Anastasia Koveshnikova will be joined by junior Logan Finnell in competition. Each of the Lion players will compete in singles play, with Koveshnikova and Finnell both playing out of the silver bracket and potentially having to face one another. The duo will also team up for doubles action, while the pairings of Perez/Grossman and Mueller/Norlin will also be on display.

Admission is free and fans are encouraged to park in PS 5 on the corner of 55th Street and Montezuma Road. Parking is $1 per hour and is always required in PS 5. The Aztec Tennis Center is located just beyond Tony Gwynn Stadium, SDSU Softball Stadium and the Aztec Aquaplex on the northwest edge of campus.
