LMU Family of Schools website | Westport Heights Elementary website | LMU Women’s Tennis on Facebook LOS ANGELES -- LMU Women's Tennis continues its proud legacy of giving back to the local community by participating in a mentoring program with students from Westport Heights Elementary, a local school in the Westchester area of Los Angeles near the Loyola Marymount campus. The team is serving as mentors to a team encompassing the diverse student body at Westport Heights. LMU's women's tennis team is a multi-cultural group from many countries, with players who are new to the United States. This makes the team ideal mentors for Westport Heights. Westport Heights is a local public school that serves nearly 500 students, many who are first-generation American from dozens of different countries, who live in the Westchester neighborhood. Westport Heights is passionately committed to fostering a safe, engaging environment that values respect, cultivates lifelong learners and celebrates cultural diversity. LMU women's tennis shares this passion and lends its support to Westport Heights' mission by sharing its experiences and mentoring the young students. Westport Heights Elementary is one of the LMU Family of Schools, which also includes Cowan Avenue Elementary, Kentwood Elementary, Loyola Village Elementary & Loyola Village Fine and Performing Arts Magnet Center, Orville Wright Middle School, Paseo Del Rey Natural Science Magnet, St. Anatasia Catholic School, St. Bernard High School, St. Jerome School, Visitation Catholic Elementary School, Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnets, Playa Vista Elementary and WISH Charter Elementary. LMU supports each school in the strategic areas of professional development, partnerships and research.
