Parravi Named WCC Player of the Month
The sophomore went 7-1 in singles in October including a tournament win at Fullerton.

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- LMU sophomore Tory Parravi has been named West Coast Conference Women’s Singles Player of the Month for October, the conference announced on Tuesday. Parravi finished the month 7-1 in singles during the month, which included a tournament victory.
The San Diego native began the month winning the top-flight singles competition at the Cal State Fullerton Intercollegiate Tournament. Parravi came from behind to dispatch Long Beach State’s Ania Jaczmionka, 4-6. 7-5, 7-6 (3-0), shutout UC Santa Barbara’s Priscilla Garcia, 6-0. 6-0, won a tough match with Cal State Los Angeles’s Leora Hemmerich, 6-1, 6-7 (0-9), 6-3, before beating Long Beach State’s Klaudia Malenovska, 6-2, 6-3 in the tournament final.
Parravi followed the Fullerton tournament win with a sweep at the University of Memphis Invitational. She won three matches in straight sets beating opponents from the University of Tennessee-Martin, Memphis, and Drake.
She finished the month by advancing to the round of 64 at the ITA Southwest Regional Tournament with a win over Karolina Rozenberg before falling to 12th-ranked Julia Wais of San Diego State.
Parravi adds a Player of the Month award with her All-WCC second team honor from last season to her growing list of accomplishments in her young career at LMU.
The Lions are back in action this weekend at the Jack Kramer Tennis Club Fall Invitational in Palos Verdes, Calif. The event gets underway Friday, Nov. 9.
