AT LMU 2006... once again limited due to injury, she saw time in 21 matches as a junior... posted a season-high 15 kills against Gonzaga... also had a season-high seven blocks and five kills in three-game sweep of Pepperdine... finished the year ranked 12th in the WCC in hitting percentage (.263)... 2005... named to the Sacramento State All-Tournament team after the Lions were named tournament runners-up... battled injuries throughout the season and played in nine matches and 24 games through the regular season... recorded double-digit kills twice (13)... tallied five blocks against Nevada... 2004... limited to appearances in 18 matches due to injury... averaged 2.61 kills per game... had 12 kills and two blocks in 3-1 win over Portland... finished with no errors in 26 attack attempts in 3-0 win over Gonzaga... tallied a career-high 17 kills and seven digs in win over No. 23 Santa Clara... 2003... utilized redshirt season...
HIGH SCHOOL a 2003 graduate of Liberty High School in Bakersfield, Calif... named California Senior of the Year and an All-American by Student Sport Magazine... named MVP of the Southeast Yosemite League and the Clovis Invitational... also named a California Challenge All-Tournament team selection and the Power Bar West Regional Athlete of the Week... was a three-time All-City and Kern County pick... was All-Area Player of the Year... was first-team All-CIF Central Section and MVP... was a three-time Jockey Club Athlete of the Month... was National West Regional Athlete of the week... high school coach was Leandrea Slayton... played club volleyball for Jamba and Coach Tom Clark... also ran track for two seasons and played basketball for one...
PERSONAL Jania Nicole Motton was born in Fresno, Calif. on Jan. 17, 1985... the daughter of Doug and Susan Motton... father played basketball at Taft College, while mother also played collegiate basketball... has a younger brother, Jordan... was also recruited by Long Beach State, Santa Clara, San Diego, and Miami... chose LMU because of its location, the coaches, and successful volleyball program... a liberal studies major with an emphasis in sociology... also working toward a minor in communiation studies.
